Methods of taking political action taken by individuals
What might cause people to want to take political action?
Political action is any action that brings pressure on political or governmental agencies and/or individuals in order to persuade them to take action. Since groundwater is a natural resource, persuasion should be to take positive environmental action. Political actions can include activities such as:
· Join a special interest group/organization
· Vote on environmental issues and for elected officials/representatives
· Attend public meetings and hearings on topics related to groundwater
· Generate phone calls and letters to your elected officials (local, state, and national)
· Write letters to the editor of local newspapers
· Send your message to the media (TV, radio, newspapers)
· Participate on a committee or subcommittee
· Organize or volunteer to work on a community project
. Initiate a bill and persuade your representative to write the bill, or start a petition

Distinguish between individual, party political, lobby groups and the media in taking action
Individual- Someone who has a belief on something, they will take action towards that belief.
An individual can take action by; writing a letter, making a petition, protesting.
Political Party- A political party is a group of people who have similar beliefs, they conjoin to make decisions and take action as a whole. Political parties can get votes of the public, and influence a number of the community or region.
Lobby Groups- Lobbyists have a similar ideal to Political Parties, though instead of being represented as a whole, they are represented by an individual, with a majority idea. For example Miners against the Mining Tax, they sent a representative to put forward their idea and opinion.
Media- Media gets the luxury to influence many people, as they have a wider range of audience. Media has a wide variety of accessibility to the public, such as radio, newspaper, internet, television, live broadcasts, social media and telephone. Media is able to gain power and popular support, and can easily negatively influence on a particular party, causing an opposition vote from the public.

Aren’t we sick and tired of people not being able to have the freedom to simple happiness?
After a whole year legislations have still not passed, leaving homosexual couples in despair.
Couples raging as Australia will not support Gay Rights, and Tony Abbott being a complete hypocrite as his sister is gay and he still won’t support it. Couples left in anger and frustration. 72% of Australians want same sex marriage legalised, but why does the Australian parliament not agree?
It has been 10 years since the Howard government defined the act of marriage as not being limited to the act between a man and woman.
Though government is still not legalising it?
Same sex couples are forced to go overseas to get legally married, but are faced with the risks of being charged.
Since these 10 years over 1500 same sex couples have gotten legally married overseas, and 300 of them were in New Zealand. Gay marriage has no validity under the current Australian government law.
